BlueCyber is committed to expanding access to cybersecurity careers for individuals who are historically underrepresented or face systemic barriers to entry in technology. We strongly encourage applications from:

  • Individuals from communities underrepresented in cybersecurity
  • Veterans and military spouses transitioning from service
  • First-generation college students or individuals without traditional degrees
  • Career changers from non-technical fields (retail, hospitality, education, healthcare, etc.)
  • Individuals returning to the workforce or seeking economic mobility

Basic Requirements

  • Age 18+
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Able to attend in-person weekend training in Arlington, VA
  • Committed to completing full 12-week program
  • No prior IT experience required (we teach from scratch)

Selection decisions are based on readiness, commitment, and program fit. All qualified applicants are considered regardless of background.

Who is eligible for the BlueCyber scholarship?

We strongly encourage applications from individuals from communities underrepresented in cybersecurity, veterans and military spouses, first-generation college students, career changers from non-technical fields, and those returning to the workforce or seeking economic mobility. No prior IT experience required. You must be 18+ and authorized to work in the US.

What does the scholarship cover?

The scholarship covers 100% of tuition ($2,500 value) for the 12-week SOC Analyst Level 1 Bootcamp. This includes all hands-on labs, instructor support, job placement assistance, and Skills Passport documentation.

How many scholarships are awarded per cohort?

We award 5 full-tuition scholarships per cohort (4 cohorts per year = 20 scholarships annually). Partial scholarships (50% tuition) are also available based on financial need.

What is the application process?

Submit a 500-word essay explaining your background, why you want to enter cybersecurity, and how the scholarship will impact your career. Include a resume or LinkedIn profile. Applications are reviewed monthly. Winners notified 2 weeks before cohort start.

Can I apply if I already have a degree or IT experience?
